Moving Paintings are (literally) mind-blowing multimedia paintings, adding movement and time to create a new genre of artistic content. Sophia von Wrangell has dedicated 7 years to developing subconscious art techniques, and subconscious story-telling to open channels for everyone to inhabit the right side of their brain, the creative, the intuitive. Moving Paintings display on your screen and subtly change over time. Some say it's Bhuto, some say it's like looking at clouds. Yet others name it Fantastic Realism in subconscious story-telling.
Moving Paintings relax, inspire, de-block, and take you to inner realms of experience.
Moving Paintings are the result of years of solitude and spiritual growth in seach of healing and the capacity to love.
I went as far away from form as I could, and found myself in the subconscious realm, the zero point of all possibilities, a place free of cultural, racial and linguistic misunderstanding, where we meet just as we are, in all our beauty.
I developed a technique, Subconscious Painting, which makes it possible to simply drift away into creation. Its fun to have to look into your own work to discover it.
My work is about love, exhilaration and passion.
Artist Statement
Art is divine expression from within, and unique meaning. Trance in a timeless state akin to my illusion of glory. Even if we do not acknowledge it consciously, Art awakens, nourishes, changes, mobilizes, enriches and inspires. Art is the mirror of life. Art is the awareness of society.
SUBCONSCIOUS PAINTING and STORY-TELLING
After the Tao principle of "Doing without doing"
At a subconscious level we already know everything. Knowledge from the subconscious comes through the medium into the painting. The subconscious image interacts with the subconscious of the observer, which enables each viewer to see his/her own painting in my paintings.
In classical painting:
The act of creation begins with the object. The observed object is transposed into the painting. The artist is bound to reality by shape and color.
In subconscious painting:
The act of creation begins randomly. The artist is free of reality. The creator then observes the work, and from that observation comes forth the subject of the painting. The act of creation ends with the object.
Sophia-Louise Espindola von Wrangell is an artist, film director, author, consultant, a passionate teacher and last but not least, an expert in communication and perception.
In 1977 Sophia-Louise apprenticed with Corneliu Braescu, Emeritus painter of Romania, and has been painting ever since. Not only do her paintings vary in style, some of them create a completely new style. No matter the medium, she seeks to capture the soul more than the subject.
Since 1983 her company Visart produced commercials (Charlie, Revlon, Quaker), 21 screenplays for feature films awarded, among others, the German Silver Bear (Berlinale 97), the Prize of the German Critique, and a NY Times Critic's Pick. With Visart, Sophia produced and directed 19 short films, a.o. "Maria" and "Re-encuentros". In 2002 she founded Sophia's Galaxy, Art For Your Heart-Brain. Sophia paints on canvas and on digital media, and constantly increases her bank of great quality photography.
Moving Paintings, a new art genre, are the result of the multimedia compendium of her diverse interests.
These paintings are the result of years of solitude and spiritual growth in seach of healing and the capacity to love.
